✨ Update on High-Risk Short Courses
From 1st September 2025, some of our high-risk short courses have changed. These updates come from Waihanga Ara Rau and are being applied across all training providers in New Zealand.
The good news? The changes are designed to cut down on bookwork and give you more hands-on, practical learning that’s relevant to the work you do every day.
🧗 Working at Height
- Use a Safety Harness System – Stays as a 1-day course, now focusing just on US 23229.
- Advanced Heights – Stays as a 2-day course, covering US 23229 + US 15757.
- Employ Height Safety Equipment (US 25045) – Now only available as a one-day standalone course at your workplace.
- Explain Safe Work Practices at Height (US 17600) – A standalone course that can be completed via eLearning.
🚧 Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP)
- Courses are now limited to US 23966 + two machines practical (1 day).
- Courses can still run at your site or ours.
- MEWP Refresher training is not changing.

We know it may take a little time to adjust to these new formats but rest assured — everyone in NZ is moving to the same structure, so requirements will be consistent no matter where you train.
