COURSE OVERVIEW:
AIM: This confined space entrant course will enable participants to demonstrate their understanding of confined space regulations, hazard identification, control measures, and the responsibilities of confined space entrants.
FOCUS: This course focuses on developing comprehensive understanding of confined spaces and equipping participants with practical skills to mitigate risks and ensure safety. It emphasises the important of hazard identification, and effective communication within confined spaces.
ACCREDITATION: This course is designed to help participants gain the NZQA qualification Unit Standard 18426 Confined Space Entrant. This accreditation is widely recognised and respected in New Zealand’s workplace health and safety industry.
PRACTICAL APPLICATION: This course provides practical insights and real-world examples to enhance participants understanding of confined space work.
COURSE CONTENT:
- Demonstrate knowledge of confined spaces, and their permit notification and implementation requirements.
- Identify control measures to eliminate, isolate, and minimise the risk of hazards in confined spaces.
- Demonstrate knowledge of monitoring and confined space testing requirements.
Describe the responsibilities and duties of people entering confined spaces or conducting observation duties for confined spaces. - Identify hazards and controls within confined spaces.
