HEIGHT SAFETY EQUIPMENT INSPECTION

This course explains how to identify, inspect, and maintain height safety equipment.

We cover the Health and Safety Legislation of tasks in accordance with:

  • Quality Management Systems
  • Designer’s requirements and manufacturer’s operating instructions; and
  • Legislation, regulations, bylaws, Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, and New Zealand Standards;
  • Industrial Rope Access in New Zealand: Best Practice Guidelines, May 2012, available from the website https://worksafe.govt.nz/; and
  • AS/NZS 1891 parts 1 – 4: 2020 Industrial fall-arrest systems and devices;
  • AS/NZS ISO 22846.1: 2020 Personal equipment for protection against falls – Rope access systems, Part 1: Fundamental principles for a system of work. New Zealand Standards are available from http://www.standards.co.nz, and their subsequent amendments.

On Completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Identify industrial rope access equipment.
  • Identify manufacturers maintenance instructions.
  • Identify manufacturers maintenance specifications.
  • Identify and reject damaged and/or worn equipment.
  • Carry out maintenance procedures in accordance with manufacturers specifications
  • Record equipment inspections in log book.
  • Record maintenance procedures in log book.

People credited with this unit standard are able to identify, inspect and maintain heights safety equipment.

DURATION

Half Day (4 Hours)

PRICE:

Schedule course: $174.00 + gst per person 
Group Booking: $1,650.00 + gst 

ENTRY CRITERIA:

ITW highly recommends trainees have experience with working at height and hold unit standard 23229 safe use of a harness and height safety equipment.

Training can be completed at Industry Training Works Training Centres or at your Site.

We have processes in place to be able to support anyone in our trainings to learn and get the certification (if applicable).
There is also a FREE online learning platform that helps improve reading, writing and maths skills as well work and life skills including learning to drive (Road Code), heavy and forklift licences, health and safety and understanding finance (My Money).
