Permit to Work
Permit to Work Issuer
Learn the ins and outs of Work Permits, so your workplace can control non-routine and hazardous work activities through a permit-to-work system
This course covers the key requirements of the role of Permit Issuer. It’s an essential course for anyone who issues safe work permits in the workplace, and for those intending to set up a permit system.
The permit to work system is an effective means to manage safety in a range of situations.
But permit systems only function effectively when people are well-trained on how to use them. Some industrial accidents have been caused in part by the breakdown of a permit system. People need to know about planning, applying for and working to the conditions of a work permit.
Participants will finish the course being able to:
- Explain work permit procedures and requirements.
- Understand the responsibilities of individuals within the work permit system, specifically the Permit Issuer.
- Ensure the need for a work permit is properly identified and the worksite is prepared accordingly. This includes the necessary documents and templates, organisational requirements and planning.
- Issue a work permit.
- Monitor and close the work permit.
- Audit work permits.
Throughout the training we can refer to your specific company permit systems and documentation (please discuss this with us prior to the training).
The Permit to Work Issuer course requires off-course work to complete the assessment.
