SECURITY COA TRAINING

This Security COA training is a compulsory requirement to gain a Certificate of Approval (COA) to work as a crowd controller, property or personal guard.

Option one:
Course Duration: 2 days

Pre-requisite:  Online completion of Unit 27360. Trainees must produce evidence of completing 27360 and bring question 44 to course.

PRICE

Scheduled course: $290.00 + gst per person
Group Booking: $2,900.00 + gst + disbursements

Option two:
Course Duration: 1 day + Extramural Training

Pre-requisite:  Online completion of Unit 27360. Trainees must produce evidence of completing 27360 and bring question 44 to course.

Extramural Training: A theory-based unit delivered by self-managed distance learning, of unit 27364, this unit contains a written assessment and is open book.

We supply the workbook and assessment materials.  On completion returned to ITW for marking and unit registration.

NZQA UNITS 

The course includes:

  • NZQA unit standard 27360 (4 credits) – Demonstrate knowledge of managing conflict situations in a security context, is a theory-based unit standard to cover what you need to know to deal with conflict when doing security work.
  • NZQA unit standard 27361 (4 credits) – Manage conflict situations in a security context. To get this you need to show you are able to deal with conflict when doing security work.
  • NZQA unit standard 27364 (4 credits) – Demonstrate knowledge of the security industry in the pre-employment context. This is a theory-based unit covering what you need to know about security work before you start work.
  • Reporting of credits to NZQA
  • Providing Certification of Achievement to candidates.

ATTENDEE NUMBERS

Maximum of 14

All 3 units must be completed within 3 months of enrolment.  A late fee applies after this.

 CERTIFICATE OF APPROVAL APPLICATIONS

Industry Training Works Ltd does not manage the COA application process – this is done by PSPLA.

Candidates must make the application and when your application has been made, all queries regarding your COA must be directed to PSPLA.

The government regulations do not allow for any exemptions for the Conflict Management unit standards (27360, 27361).

If you have completed the National Certificate in Security (Level 2, 3 or 4) after 2009, then you may be exempt from unit standard 27364.

Cancellation Policy:  Cancellations are accepted via phone or email only.  Registrations not cancelled by 10 am, two days prior to the course will require payment.  However, substitutions are welcome.
