Description
All workplaces from industrial sites to retail stores and everything in-between should have staff trained in first aid.
Our Workplace First Aid training provides training for first aid in the workplaces and at home. The training is developed to make sure you learn the skills, knowledge and confidence to give first aid when needed.
You will learn the same approach to patient care and emergencies that first responders use, and how to carry out that care until professional help arrives.
Our course combines theory and practical hands on training for supporting patients and victims through assessment and management, CPR and use of an AED, control of bleeding and common first aid conditions. These include treatment for shock, burns, fractures, soft tissue injuries, poisoning, heart attack and stroke.
We customise our courses and use examples likely to be found in participant workplaces.
On completion of the training you will be able to
- Manage first aid in an emergency.
- Provide first aid.
- Provide basic life support.
This course covers NZQA Unit Standard(s)
6400: Manage first aid in an emergency situation
6401: Provide first aid
6402: Provide basic life support
